Dear TVH Readers: Website Changes

Hi there!

In going through our website's traffic statistics I've noticed a high number of unusual non-US views of older posts that should be long out of sight, out of mind for guild members and those genuinely interested in the guild or even just hand spinning.

It may be harmless but in light of this unusual activity I've decided to make a few changes to the website to help keep the bulk of the site content safe and limited to actual people viewing it.

As part of those changes you may notice that posts are no longer available in their full form on the main page.  You will need to click the "read more" link at the bottom of each post in order to view the full story on that post's individual page.  Similarly, if you read TVH news via Twitter or Facebook or via a RSS feed reader you may find you need to click through the post in order to read the remainder of the story on the website.

It isn't a huge change and I doubt it will have much (if any) impact on legitimate interest.  I hope our members and readers will understand that we want to keep our guild news and website content safe and sound from those who might misuse information we've posted or republish it elsewhere to further their own bottom line.  (See: Blog Scraping if you're curious about how that works.)

If you have any questions, concerns or feedback please feel free to drop me a line or come find me at a meeting to chat.  I love hearing feedback about how the guild is being represented online and want to keep our online presence as accessible and interesting as possible even with this change.

Thanks, and happy spinning!
Jessica
