SMFAF: 2014 Hands On Demonstration for Vendors, Instructors and Volunteers

Cost:  Free for Vendors, Instructors, and Volunteers

Nuno Felting is the process of laminating wool to selected areas of a base cloth. In this playful beginner, hands on demonstration. We’ll learn the process by making a small humanoid. It is a fun introduction to the Nuno process and will show you the skills needed to make larger projects successfully.


Merino fleece, base cloths, and decorative items will be provided.

Provided by the Smoky Mountain Fiber Arts Festival and Geri Forkner for vendors, instructors, and volunteers.

All necessary materials will be provided: Merino fleece, base cloths, and decorative items. Optionally, students small amounts of fibers/yarns to experiment.

Geri creates felted and woven works of art, exhibits and teaches fiber arts internationally to both children and adults. She is an Artist in Residence in Tennessee schools. A member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild, Geri cherishes the old traditions and skills while using fibers in innovative ways.
